I know this line closed down many years ago, but there is now a local Group there who wish to reopen it. Meanwhile, some very childish councillors have classed the Group as "big boys playing with their toys" and doing all they can to dis-suade them and stop them doing it. I read of their plight in the columns of the Eastern Daily Press and so contacted them with words of Encouragement for this group. I added that these childish councillors should come out and face people when they make stupid comments, then go back to playing with their dolls. Laughing Laughing Laughing

There is always someone who doesn't want history to come back!!! It's going to get even more people to the area surely, why can councillors be against that!!!

As yet, the paper have to print my letter. In fact, I don't think they will because I am criticising an authority as such. Rolling Eyes

Southwold is a funny place. They go on about not spoiling the town with uPVC windows etc but the fact is most people who live there are London weekenders who are ultimatley killing the small buisnesses. Mind you it is home to Adnams!!! They are calling the railway a backward step that would increase the traffic in the town? I thought railways took traffic off the roads? Numptys!

Well Adnams have moved to the outskirts now!! It's silly to not want extra tourism and cut traffic, but ultimately it is there choice! However stupid it is!!!!!

It would be a perfect railway for the town, fantastic scenery and a rich population.
