The SO summer only class 47 hauled sets to Great Yarmouth are back again. Tomorrow being week 3. I was supposed to be the shunter on board tomorrow but I have taken leave for my daughters birthday.
47810 has been fitted with control pipes and multi connection in readyness for possible top and tail 47's to Lowestoft on a daily basis to provide cover for an already stretched unit fleet. The MkII coaches have arrived in Intercity livery together with a pink Wessex trains BSO. The set is wired for multi but need jumpers and control air pipes to make the connections between the coaches. As yet it is only a trial with no promise of a service although everything is in place for the diagrams. |

I saw John Peel when passing through Norwich station the other week and have seen a few pictures around the place, it makes a nice change to see the drags on.
Are the MkII's rented/on loan or are they to be liveried up and stored when not needed for the higher capacity services? _________________ My New Website | My Fotopic Site |

The MkII's are on lease and are to be used to bolster the service and allow the overworked sprinter units more maintenance time. These are the same MkII's that were supposed to be used with the 31's. The 31's were double booked with Network Rail so Cotswold Rail are to supply suitable 47's. |
