If you know of any Model shops worthy of recommending to other modellers, then please palce their details on here?

Not just because I have my free passes, but because they ARE Good, I use The Signal Box in Rochester High Street for purchasing bulk numbers of items for the Wisbech Model Railway Club. We have been using them since we started, but not via 'The Club' to start with. One of the members has been dealing with them for years and so told the rest of us about them. They do a postal service and have a website on:- www.thesignalbox.co.uk

There used to be a very good Model Shop in Diss. Sadly it had to move out into the country and never really recovered. I'm not sure if its still surviving, but their website is still running, although it looks a little neglected:

In Norwich, there are two good Model Railway shops. The first is Great Eastern Toys and Models. This is one of my favourites and they have lots of stuff in stock.
No website though:

The second good un is Langleys Toymaster. They have a good model section upstairs. They mostly specialise in Plastic Model Kits (which is my other speciality) but have quite a few railway bits, most notably Hornby Rolling Stock, Locos, Train Sets/Packs and Skaledale buildings plus card kits and some scenic items.

There's a model shop in Norfolk Street, King's Lynn which seems to have a reasonable amount of stock. I've not shopped there for a few years, and in that time the owner sold out to a nearby toy shop. It doesn't seem so friendly now, but it does have quite a bit of stuff, as I say.

I go in there as it's also a DIY shop.

If I get round to starting a new railway, no doubt I'll buy odds and ends there. Trouble is, with the internet, it's so easy to shop anywhere in the UK, local shops cease to be so important except for little emergency items.

As an Ex-resident of Kings Lynn, I know it. Laughing

I also use quite a few online model shops because I'm 25 miles away from Norwich!

My favourite is www.Modelsforsale.com, it satisfies my Kit bashing habbit with lots of nice low prices!
