Many years ago, Whitemoor Yard in March was reported to have the Largest marshalling yard in the world. Sadly, these days we don't see nearly half as much freight as once passed through here, but we still get some interesting sights.
As I stood on Norwood Road Bridge overlooking the yard today, I could see as many as 5 x Class 66's, but too far away to note their numbers. In the middle of the photo of the Yard below as I saw it today, there is Class 73 207. This is used on shunting duties and was shunting some new Polish built Ballast Wagons that had just arrived in there.
