If any of you get the chance to visit Kings Lynn, go into Morrisons Supermarket and their Cafeteria area, where adorning the wall at one end, are two large pictures of the station front and the lines, engine shed, etc., with steam on shed and a DMU leaving. they are big, so you can't really miss them.

What a pity this doesn't still stand, because the Bramley Line could have perhaps used it?

Looking at the photo of Wisbech station that was, the picture below shows the same spot today.
The road is where the tracks ran, so I have been made aware. _________________ Please help us to 'Raise a Wagon Load of Cash' and so we can get the lease, then start running. See the main website www.bramleyline.org.uk for further details. |

Two Class 37's passing through March some years ago and note the hanging baskets top left of picture. You don't see the station this smart these days. _________________ Please help us to 'Raise a Wagon Load of Cash' and so we can get the lease, then start running. One now very rare sight and track in the back platforms of March as a Class 37 approaches light engine on route to March Depot.

Seen in Kings Lynn back in the 1980's, a Railfreight Class 47 following a collision with a Tractor on an occupational crossing between here and Ely while working a service in foggy weather earlier in the day. The tractor driver was reported as saying: "The train should never have been there at the time I was attempting to cross." Where else did he expect it to be other than on the track, in the sky?

On a rare visit to Norwich some years ago, I spotted Class 08 869 'The Canary' in the station and got this photo.

Who can remember Green diesels? here is a green DMU as seen at Kings Lynn back in the 1987 and proudly displaying the "Cat's whiskers" in what is now Platform 2, with the buildings in the background long gone, and OHL's now in place.

Going through an album today, I found a few photo's I took on a visit to Dagenham Dock and one-time LT&SR (now under C2C) some years back and here they are.
First is ARC Class 59 102. - Note the station sign?
To add to this and taken on the same day, is Class 86 102 leading.
Followed by Class 47 219 heading Tilbury direction.
With the Eurostar now running behind the up side platform (left), the building and level crossing have both since been removed for obvious reasons.
