Train hits buffer stops at Sherringham

A Norwich to Sherringham service hit the stops at Sherringham today injuring 4 people. All the injured were treated at the scene and released with no hospital visit required. Network Rail have been at the scene all day with all services from Cromer to Sherringham replaced by bus.

The investigation is at an early stage but the low speed impact may of had something to do with the wheels picking up on leaf fall material. This is my interpretation and has not been proved. I am sure the Network Rail containmination swabs will tell.

I had heard about 'an incident' as such today, but expected it to be a suicide jockey until late, when it was said on Radio as to exactly what it was.

Ouch. Will services be up and running by Saturday?
nebulaman

Already running but with temporary buffer stops!

I saw the damage at Sherringham the other day whilst at the NNR, seriously bent over! Hope the driver was ok.

Spoken to the driver several times since. He is ok but obviously worried about the ongoing investigation.
