Platform BehaviourEach and every time I travel by train and no matter when, I see some very stupid behaviour by passengers, or those waiting to see somebody off/greet somebody arriving.
While at March today, I saw these two performing utterly stupid stunts on their bikes, ON the platform with passengers walking about. They had been there for a matter of hours, with two trains already gone and when speaking with them about their stunts, one claimed they were waiting for the next train to Peterborough.
The loco in the background, had already passed through and on its way into Whitemoor Yard.

It really surprises me how stupid some children around my own age can be.
If your going to hang around a railway station, with no ticket, but with no intention to board a train - no problem. If you've got a bike/roller-skates/skateboard then suit yourself, your asking for trouble.
Bramleyman, i'd advise you to be carefull when approaching youths (like myself) and asking about their action/behaviour... I can understand that you (being a civilised person) would not acctually do anything to offend them but you would probably either get verbal or physical assault in my area... i've been spat at before on ENL platforms.

Thank you for the advice, I sincerely know what you say is right having worked past your house, so to speak, but years ago. I always make a point of being careful and more of an advisory manner, as if interested in their safety in cases like this. I was on this occasion, wearing a HVV in orange, but with NO name of employer on it.
Strange as it may seem, an hour or so after taking this picture, I had an accident and simply walking back to my car elsewhere. I stood on a small stone, lost my balance, went 'flying without the use of an aircraft, landed and badly grazed one knee, which later swelled up to twice its normal size, grazed one hand even though I thought I had broken it with the pain, plus very nearly broke my glasses when my face went down, but for the fact I was wearing a Good baseball cap, with a solid peak.

I must admit, my area has gone severely downhill in the past few years, with a gang moving in at the end of my road - (had a nasty experience with them today, infact. The only way home from school is across the Albany Park footbridge, they were around half way up the steps and tripped me over. Carried on walking after picking myself up, but when I got home had bad cuts on my legs and forearms from the concrete steps).
Anyway, you'd probably be safer wearing a Hi-Vi, as no-one in my area (excluding my immediate family and anyone who is un-fortunate enough to be travelling with me) travels with a ticket and will be afraid of being Penalty Fined, being arrested (by the BTP) or just getting kicked off before they're home.
Sorry to hear you've hurt yourself, but always look on the good side - at least you didn't cut your eyes open with those glasses!
