No more SemaphoresLast weekend saw the removal of the semaphore signal arms at March and between South and East boxes, but leaving the gantry in place. Far too much of the True railway is now sadly gone. I realise we have to move with the times, but to me the semaphores were the Best signals we had. When these were pulled to the 'Off' position, you knew a train would be coming, but the colour lights can be green for ages and no train coming.

thats true, was waiting to catch a train last weekend, and was watching the different signals around and was wondering when the train was actually coming! Least we have the heritage lines to keep history, but its like everything, moving with the technology revolution!

At least we still have the minature semaphore shunting arms and the semaphore shunting discs at March, for how long though- I don't know!!
