Thank you Owen.
Owen

Just had my first day of Steam Cleaning today and almost a full day on the footplate. Started at 5:50, finished around 12 1/2 hours later! Extremely good fun, an experience not to forget, I throughly enjoyed. I was on the visiting loco from the K&ES Railway, 16xx 1638. Brilliant Fun!
Mr M&GN

Im looking forward to the Steam gala which is soon, it will be my first time with the quads.

Here are some pics from a couple of weeks ago

Mr M&GN

missed the steam gala but i will make the ww2 weekend

anyway according to joint line a start will be made to sheringhams second platform with the canopy bits at weybourne yard being refurbed and put on plat 2 so all sounds good
Owen

The BBQ behind Weybourne station raised enough money to have the canopy supports for Sheringham station moved from Weybourne Station to Sheringham once they have been sand blasted. A 6ft deep foundation needs to be built apparently so it'll be quite a job to rebuild the canopy. As things stand though, I'd rather see the level crossing get sorted out first.
Bramleyman

I must get back over to Sheringham again some time. Thank you for keeping us informed Owen.
Mr M&GN

i agree, it seems the crossing may be quite expensive after all, but with the thought of 70013 going across is amazing.
Owen

IIRC, Cromwell is booked to run across come February. Weather or not all goes to plan is yet to be seen! Roll on the Norfolkman.... Very Happy
Bramleyman

70013 will be in Norwich on Tuesday this week and if it goes to the NNR, you can be sure of a Massive attendance, including me. After all, what an attraction?
Mr M&GN

who has read SR, plans for the mega gala have been released
b1 mayflower is booked
70013
n2
flying pig
4mt
and another one I have forgotten
but some are only allowed to attend if the crossing is in place.
Owen

What? Steam Beano - never trust anything you read in that!

Even so, an impressive list. I don't know how on earth they got hold of that information, it was meant to be being kept secret - it'd be nice to know how SR got hold of that info.  Evil or Very Mad
Mr M&GN

Does anyone here know if the second platform canopy will be built similar as original or different style?
plus the hold ups (forgotten the correct term) where were they from originally?
Owen

The "Hold Ups" AKA Stanchions are the originals from the station, IIRC. I think the structure will be built as the original, if not in the same style. I wouldn't think the canopy project would be high on the list of priorities though. If and when they do go in, the Stanchions need to be sand blasted and they will then be fixed into position. Once a canopy has been built, planning and fundraising for a permanent building will probably happen.
Mr M&GN

Thanks for the info Owen, I knew it wouldnt happen soon as the crossing isnt cheap and I hear a footbridge has been obtained. In fact I found a Picture of it in its original place. I myself hope it goes to Holt as I think it needs one.

Quite interesting to see how SR got it wrong, infact as far as i remember, they only got half of the guests right (4F, B1 & 4MT). I think the flying pig was a bit unlikely from the start, same with the N2. They have both yet to steam, and i would have thought the railways that they are based at would want to make use of them first.

There is generally a mole in every group and the last person you would suspect.
