Class 31 rumoursA driver was route learning the depot as he said he was bringing some 31's and MkII coaches to Crown Point next week. Could this be for the t&t 31's on the local routes or is it so the Serco train can refuel? |

The 31's plus coaches are headed for Crown Point soon. They will be used on the rural routes. Should be at Crown Point this week for driver training. | ||

There is a thread on WNXX that is saying that the class 31's owners (ECT/Mainline) have gone into administration. This could pour cold water on the 31 idea. Also who is going to look after the Crown Point 08 pilot engines as they are also owned by ECT.

I have heard that ECT/Mainline have not gone bust BUT the 31's are already on hire to someone else. It looks like top and tail 47's will be used. I wonder where thay are going to get serviceable ETS fitted 47's from? | ||

I have vowed to use the service this year and so as I can visit my Grandson I haven't seen for 5 years. Class 31's, or 47's, I don't care because I like both. | ||

I'd rather see 31's just because I think they look a bit nicer but still nice to see "Vintage" traction.
I noticed in the BBC report (you have to be a member of the Railchat forum to view content) that NatXEA is hiring coaches, described as "older" - I presume these are Mk.II's similar to what Anglia used? |

Well according to the BBC, NEEA may be bringing class 47s to the Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft services, but we will see!!! | ||

A gauging test run from Norwich to Yarmouth today consisting of;
Class 47 - DVT - Mk3 - Mk3 - Class 47 A lot of expensive kit for the equivilent of a 2 car DMU! I suppose there are cost savings over leasing Mk2 coaches and Class 31s as we must already pay for the Mk3s and DVTs |

All the stock is already passed for the Lowestoft lines. The train was a timing run as the acceleration and speed limits are different for the T&T 47's. The locos were 47828 and 47818. |
