The waiting shelter on the southbound platform at Watlington is an architectural masterpiece.  The walls don't meet the floor.  The walls don't meet the roof.  There is no ceiling, and no door.  The roof is bigger than the area enclosed by the walls.  Draughts howl through it and the occupants unimpeded - it's windy in the Fens.  On a cold morning inside it's only very slightly less unpleasant than outside.  So perhaps it doesn't matter that it's only big enough for 3.

I daresay that because it is very little used compared with other stations along the line and for example Littleport and Waterbeach, there is very little need to build anything better.
