Back in the 1990's, I had the honour of being a Guard on some Steam Specials between Kings Lynn & Cambridge, and later Ely & Bishop Stortford, with a few stories I can recall.
On the KLN - CBG runs, we had 4472 Flying Scotsman, Taw Valley and 70000 Britannia. The day before it all started, I was in Cambridge when Britannia arrived and was able to get aboard for the photo below.
