This weekend the Nene Valley are holding a 60's weekend and would I Love to be there for it and not just for the motive power. I am a sixties nut as the saying goes.
Years ago, I did voluntary work on the NVR, but left after a little cliche started to ignore me for no reason.
While I was there, I was asked to assist in changing a battery on a Deltic and got a surprise when I found out how big and heavy they are. I was also asked to remove the firebars from the firebox of Britannia and gee whiz, they were HEAVY as well as awkward in trying to get them out without falling through to the track below. Good job nobody tried to light the fire on it while I was in it. _________________ Please help us to 'Raise a Wagon Load of Cash' and so we can get the lease, then start running. Sadly, we can't use it on the Bramley Line as we haven't got our lease yet, but even then, if our Engineer says no, then no it will be for any loco. In fact we have even had so many offers of loco's, they are coming out of our ears as the saying goes.
